a robust selection of optional features
Astrophysics’ x-ray scanners can include the following optional features8-colour imaging
Upgraded conveyor capacity
Enhanced Imaging
kits
Environmental Kit
Ensures systems are able to operate in extreme climates. Astrophysics offers two environmental kits: the Polar Kit and the Tropical Kit. The Polar Kit features a generator-mounted heating pad. The Tropical Kit includes an additional fan and multiple humidity control devices.
Mobility Kit
Includes heavy-duty caster wheels, handles, and a monitor mount. Allows operators to move the x-ray scanner over uneven floors and redeploy it at a new location. Kit can be tailored to customer specifications.
Test Kit
Enables customers to perform on-site system checks on system performance and reliability.
Footmat Kit
Uses an “interlock” to ensure the operator is present whenever the system is active, to prevent the system from operating in an unsafe condition. Operations trigger the interlock by stepping onto the mat.
Mobile Stand
A mobile monitor stand that allows operators to screen bags in areas with limited space.
workstation
Supervisor Workstation
Monitor, keyboard, mouse, work table and computer that allows supervisors and administrators to concurrently monitor multiple x-ray systems.
Suspect Workstation
Allows screeners to conduct additional analysis of suspicious objects and control workflow, for maximum efficiency at every checkpoint. It is attached to the system via Ethernet cable and can be situated at distances greater than 5 meters (15′).
Remote Table-Mounted Station
Maintains full control of the system and provides greater flexibility when designing the overall layout of a screening area. Connects to the X-Ray Inspection System via Ethernet cable and can b operated at a distance of up to 5 meters (15′) away. A table-mounted station comes standard on the XIS-7858 and larger.
Secondary Review Station
AOCP, monitor, computer, and work table that allow a second set of operators or supervisors to review and evaluate scanned images.
Remote Operator Station
Advanced Operator Control Panel (AOCP), monitor and work table that connect to the scanner via Ethernet cable at a distance of up to 5 meters (15 feet).
Remote Workstation
Secondary workstations that allow operators and supervisors to manage x-ray scanners from a distance and can be added to any Astrophysics scanner.
conveyor
Motorized Conveyor Extensions
Helps move bags through the system, process larger objects, provides longer clearance, and more baggage storage.
Extended Tunnel
Lengthened entry and exit tunnels that protect civilians and prevent them from reaching into the scanner while it is in operation.
Upgraded Conveyor Capacity
Increase the load the conveyor can support.
Upgraded Conveyor Belt Speed
Upgrades the conveyor motor for faster speed.
Extended Conveyor
Attachments for the entry and exit tunnels that offer longer clearance and help operators scan larger and heavier objects.
miscellaneous
Radiation Meter
Allows operators to perform onsite safety checks and ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations.
Waterproof Catchtray
Protects the system’s electronics from liquid damage. Allows users to keep liquids in their bags during screening.
CBT Lite
A condensed Computer-Based Training program that improves operator skill. Used exclusively on Astrophysics x-ray scanners.
Density Alert
Highlights potential threats by indicating impenetrable or dense objects in red, ensuring operators are alerted to their presence.
software
Local Language Support
Astrophysics can provide AOCP manual and operator interface software in multiple languages, including Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.
Screener Assist
Aids operators in identifying difficult threats, such as explosives or narcotics, which can commonly be mistaken for other organic materials.
Threat Image Projection (TIP)
Software system that periodically inserts a threat object into scanned images to evaluate operators’ screening abilities and test their effectiveness.
